The aim of this week's session was to transfer the experimental shapes of the previous session onto a large scale, using A0 paper.
The purpose of this exercise was to experiment with the created shapes on mannequins and establish positions for them.
The first steps of the exercise were to transfer a chosen shape onto a large piece of paper (A0).
After I enlarged the chosen shapes, I cut them out and started positioning around the body of a mannequin.
(Cut, folded and ready for experiment!)
(At the beginning of the exercise I used the shape mostly around the shoulder line)
(After moving it a few times, I decided to move it down the body and use it around the waist).
Moving the shape around the body really helped expand my ideas and opened my mind more towards experimentation. The effect of this experimentation is unique, I found it very useful as it's not a commonly used which make the outcomes really interesting and different.
The next step of the exercise was to transfer another shape and experiment with it using the same method.
